About Us

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I was born under the covenant and I have two faithful parents who have always taught me by word and example to be a disciple of Christ.
My dad was raised in Texas by two wonderful members of the church and my Mom was raised in California were she met some Mormon missionaries as a teenager and was converted. My parents met at Brigham Young University (BYU or the Y), got married, and transferred to the University of Utah ( the U). Not soon after became their alumni. I occasionally joke that they are traitors for their lack of loyalty to BYU for these schools are rivals to say the least. After graduation, as a family, we moved to Texas where I spent my childhood.
I had always wanted to attend BYU for my undergrad. In 2009, my dream came true when I stepped onto campus as a student.
Being raised outside of Utah I was surprised of the strange culture here. There was this idea of who you had to be culturally in order to be Mormon. I was a 'full breed' Mormon but somehow there were things that I didn't understand or didn't agree with. This blog is an attempt to explore my frustration of the culture and prove that you can be different and still be true to your religion.
